Ok, what a LONG day! First, my flight was delayed…not for too long but long enough to annoy me because I just wanted to get here. When I finally arrived, I wandered around the airport for a bit until I found my driver/cast member, Tim, who chauffeured me to the park. He delivered me right to Epcot, to the doorstep of Tutto Italia (in Italy), where we would dine. I greeted everyone quickly and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We finished by sampling a few of the desserts, courtesy of the chef.

After dinner, we walked over to the World Showcase Lagoon to watch the IllumiNations show. It was pretty spectacular! We had coffee and our second dessert there (hey, I’m at Disney World!)

We continued to venture around the park. I wanted to check out Soarin’ but the wait was too long and it was getting pretty late. We opted for Spaceship Earth instead, which is a tour through the giant golf ball. I don’t know what that ball is called. It’s driving me crazy. I didn’t do this that last time (only time) that I visited Epcot, so I was happy to have done it this time. It was pretty neat and amusing. The amusing part follows in video format. Amy from LIParentSource and Elizabeth from Table for Five and I did the tour together and had some fun.

I was going to write this whole thing on the lack of customer service I received from the hotel but I’m too happy to be here so I’ll let them off the hook. I have to gear up for an action-packed day starting with breakfast at 7:30 am so I’m really pushing it right now! I bet everyone else is fast asleep. I don’t have my itinerary yet (because of my late check-in, I’m told) but I DO know that we’re going to see Cirque du Soleil’s “La Nouba” on Saturday evening! I’m ECSTATIC. Eric and I saw “O” in Vegas a few years ago and I’ve been dying to get back to one of these shows ever since. There is also a “top secret” event planned for us that just a couple of people know about and from what I understand the media is dying to know about! WE GET TO EXPERIENCE IT FIRST! =)

Until tomorrow…or rather a few hours from now.

Sitting and waiting…

My suitcase hasn’t been delivered to my room yet, so I don’t have any of my stuff! I guess at least I have my mouse ears.

Not gettin’ nuttin’ done!

Apr-16-2008 By Amy

Argh!

I always do this. Procrastinate, procrastinate, procrastinate! I have SO MUCH to do before leaving for Disney World this week and here I sit…posting on my blog about not doin’ nuttin’ and oh, writing about Bill Clinton visiting St. Marys tomorrow (thanks, Kristie!) and writing/re-writing comments to commenter’s on my WaPo post. I decided against commenting there again because some of those people just want to rip you right apart. I bet they’re BIG fun to hang out with in real life.

Anyway, I have laundry and dishes and packing and nail-painting and work and bills and organizing to do and I’m HIDING from it all. Eric has been doing most of the work around here, which definitely qualifies me in the slacker housewife/mom category. I’ll get back on my game after I take this much needed, all-expense paid mini-vacation. I have to say that, just so you all know. I’m not bragging. I’m pretty thankful, quite honestly. I’m all giddy about this trip, especially since the other women going are into over-packing shoes and whatnot like I am and to quote my mother-in-law, it’s the “whatnot” I’m worried about.

…still spinning in circles, trying to find a place to settle in…
